Illinois AG upholds FOIA request

GALESBURG — The Illinois Attorney General’s office has ruled that Knox County must turn over documents detailing the settlement amounts of three sexual harassment suits levied against the county and State’s Attorney John Pepmeyer “immediately.”

However, there was no one at the County Courthouse who could make the documents available Friday, the day The Register-Mail received the ruling from the attorney general’s office.

Court dismisses FOIA lawsuit, upholds secrecy in drone killings of U.S. citizens

From ACLU:

NEW YORK – A federal court today dismissed most of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking records about the government’s targeted killing of three American citizens in Yemen in 2011: Anwar Al-Awlaki and Samir Khan in September, and Al-Awlaki’s 16-year-old son Abdulrahman in October.

The ACLU plans to appeal the decision.

WA high court to hear KOMO’s public records suit
