From The Republic:
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — A lawyer's attempt to get more details about the execution procedures planned for his condemned client through Louisiana's public records law was tossed out Friday by … State District Judge William Morvant, [who] dismissed the lawsuit against the Department of Corrections, saying the complaint wasn't properly filed.
Morvant said lawyer Gary Clements filed the public records request on behalf of convicted murderer Christopher Sepulvado, so the lawsuit filed claiming the corrections department didn't follow public records law had to be filed in Sepulvado's name as well.
Even then, Morvant said Sepulvado isn't entitled to the information under the state's public records law because he's exhausted appeals of his conviction.
