A proposal (LB902) from Sen. Bruce Bostelman creating an exemption from the state’s public-records laws for records created for the registration, possession or sale of guns was advanced to second-round debate on a 32-0 vote Tuesday.
Bostelman, of Brainard, said the bill would keep gun owners from being targeted for fraud, harassment or abuse, and it would also prevent abuse victims who own firearms from having their personal information published.
It also allowed law enforcement agencies to access those records if needed. Read more…
