The Florida Times-Union has filed a lawsuit against Jacksonville seeking "declaratory relief" from the Circuit Court in obtaining public records from local government officials.

The lawsuit specifically references a request made on May 16 for documents related to the preparation of the budget proposal that was presented by Brown to the council on May 1. The request was made after Brown's office said no drafts were available hours before the presentation was made.
