Palm Springs will now make public the identities of police officers involved in shootings while on the job. This is a win for the public and should also be seen as good for members of law enforcement.
The announcement of this new policy comes nearly a year and a half after The Desert Sun requested the identities of all Coachella Valley law enforcement officers who fired their guns while on duty during the past five years.
