Tatum (TX) city attorney regrets ban on recording devices during meeting

Tatum’s city attorney says it was a mistake not to allow cameras and recorders in Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

Texas Attorney General’s Office guidelines say it is unlawful to ban such devices from open session in council meetings. Tatum Mayor Phil Cory issued the ban before Tuesday evening’s meeting.

Appeals court hears newspaper’s mug shot FOIA lawsuit

DENVER – Judges of an appeals court said Wednesday they have to balance privacy rights against the public's right to know in deciding whether the U.S. Marshals Service will have to release federal mug shots.

[Tulsa World] is asking the Denver-based court to overturn the decision of a judge in Tulsa that federal mug shots are exempt from public disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

Oklahoma state senator wants Legislature under open meeting, records laws
