Andy Moore has been named the new executive director of FOI Oklahoma, becoming only the second ever to hold the post, it was announced last week.
Moore succeeds original executive director Kay Bickham, who earlier this year announced her retirement after nearly two decades.
Moore, an Oklahoma City resident and founder of Let’s Fix This, a nonprofit that tries to spur Oklahomans to become more involved in government, was approved unanimously for the role at the last FOI Oklahoma meeting. He was one of the finalists from several candidates tapped by a search committee.
“Oklahomans have a right to know what’s going on inside their government, and FOI Oklahoma is here to help guarantee that right,” Moore said. “I’m thrilled to join FOI Oklahoma. It’s a tremendous organization that is committed to educating Oklahomans about open records and actively promoting government transparency.”
Moore said that his goals include creating new ways for state residents to connect with FOI Oklahoma. (Read more…)
