The State Attorney’s office announced Friday that it found no wrongdoing by Fairpoint Regional Utility System members who were accused of violating the state’s Sunshine Law.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Greg Marcille wrote the utility system is not subject to the Sunshine Law, so members of the FRUS board of directors could not have violated the law.
In November, Marcille confirmed his office received a complaint against five individuals alleging they violated the Sunshine Law by holding an unannounced, illegal private meeting Oct. 31.
The complaint was filed against Matt Dannheisser, the mayor of Gulf Breeze and an FRUS director; Troy Bossier, a director of the Holley-Navarre Water System Inc.; and Edwin “Buz” Eddy, Paul Gardner and Bien May, all FRUS directors.
