LAWRENCE, NJ — An open-government activist has filed a lawsuit against the township alleging that officials violated the state’s public records law by denying him access to documentation regarding a civil settlement reached by the township police department this year.
John Paff, who runs the blog “NJ Open Government Notes” where he publishes settlements reached in civil cases involving municipalities in the state among other things, had filed a request under the Open Public Records Act, which was denied by the township.
